Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored red blend from Washington State opens with a fragrant and inviting blueberry bouquet with a hint of oak and black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is black plum with hints of black raspberry, black licorice and gentle oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are a little sticky and linger. This wine is a very good everyday offering and would pair perfectly with a juicy Angus bacon burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Les Chevaux, (French for "the horses") is named for the wild horses that once roamed the Horse Heaven Hills. This lively red blend presents aromas and flavors of dark fruit and currant, followed by smooth tannins that lead in to a vibrant finish. Foods with complex flavors match the complexity of red blends. Pepper steak, well seasoned beef or lamb, rich stews, pâtés and strong cheeses such as blue cheese and stilton, are great pairings.
