Wine Review: This opaque and deep black cherry colored Malbec from Colome opens with a black cherry and blueberry bouquet with hints of funky olive and cedar. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and dense. The flavor profile is a concentrated blackberry and black olive blend with notes of black tea and oak. I also detected hints of stewed black plum and a touch of black cherry at the very end. The finish is dry, and its bold and dusty tannins, flavors and tingly tannins linger and last for a very long time. I would decant this big boy Malbec with a well-marbled cowboy ribeye steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Very deep color, almost black, with purple reflections. Elegant and complex nose: black fruit (blackberry, cherry), spicy (white pepper) and floral (violet) and mineral notes. Well integrated toasting of the barrels. On the palate it is very fruity, vibrant, and concentrated, with a good structure and firm tannins.
