Wine Review: This dark red colored Brunello di Montalcino opens with a mild cherry and violet bouquet with hints of red raspberry and craisin. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, round and smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle flinty mineral influenced mild red plum and dried cherry blend with notes of cedar plank. I also detected hints of five spice and red currant. The finish is dry and its rather dusty tannins build-up and last for a very long time. This Brunello benefits from some aeration. I would decant or swirl it in the near term and serve it with a grilled Tuscan steak. Enjoy - Ken
