Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored red blend from Coho opens with pipe tobacco and black cherry bouquet with hints of black currant, saddle leather, spice, and faint graphite. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, smooth, and supple. The flavor profile is stony minerality and black currant blend with notes of black pepper and blackberry. We also detected hints of black tea, cedar, and graphite. The finish is dry, and its moderate dusty tannins are well managed and show nice length. The Tasting Panel would serve this red blend with a Brazilian picanha steak or braised short ribs.
