Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chenin Blanc from Vouvray opens with faint Macintosh apple like bouquet with a hint of wild rose. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, rather acidic and shows nice life. The flavor profile is a very ripe Bosc pear with notes of tangerine and a touch of ripe lime and faint chalky minerality that drifts into the finish. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This Vouvray would pair well with steamed mussels. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pale yellow in color, the nose reveals typical Chenin Blanc characteristics — floral aromas that are reminiscent of acacias with hints of dried fruit. Fresh notes of green apple and citrus fruit are backed by a mineral edge that leads to a rich, concentrated and well balanced, dry palate. Serve chilled and enjoy with appetizers, seafood and poultry.
