Wine Review: This dark ruby colored red blend from Argentina opens with a mild black raspberry and gentle oak bouquet with hints of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is smooth, gentle, and fresh. The flavor profile is an oak influenced blackberry with notes of black licorice and black tea. I also detected some hints of black pepper, spiced black plum, and stony minerality. The finish is rather dry, and its dusty tannins linger and last for quite some time. This wine went well with my house braised short rib tacos at Casa Reina in St Augustine. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Clos de los Siete's (C7) renowned Winemaker and Master Blender Michel Rolland, is thrilled to introduce Clos de los Siete's 2021 vintage to celebrate the brand's 20th anniversary. The varietal composition of C7 changes each year, making each vintage an original. The 2021 vintage has a deep, glittering ruby color and a fresh aroma profile, with notes of blackberry, red fruit and wild herbs. On the palate, the elegant combination of rich body weight with medium plus concentration and seductive acidity, adds freshness and liveliness, and promises excellent potential for aging.
