Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from the "Live Oak Vineyard" opens with an intriguing pomegranate, red currant and kiwi shoe polish bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced with no edges. The flavor profile is a craisin and mineral blend with hints of tart cherry, cola and red plum. The finish is dry its fruit flavors and mild tannins fade away nicely. This is Zinny Zin, that would pair well with Memphis styled dry rub ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Live Oak Zinfandel is known for its ripeness and individuality. This wine is a classic example of the big Zinfandels, for which Cline Cellars has become known. The 2017 Live Oak Zinfandel is dark ruby in color and opens with aromas of fresh berries. On the palate the wine delivers notes of sweet spice, berries, and black currant. This well-balanced and lively wine mingles structure, acidity and fine-grained tannins perfectly to culminate in a long and soft finish.
