Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Malbec opens with a mild menthol and raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and very smooth. The flavor profile s a pleasant ripe red currant with notes of boysenberry and black raspberry. There was a touch of old oak detected as well. The finish is rather dry and its building moderate tannins linger nicely. This wine would be a perfect match with a juicy burger or Theresa’s meatloaf. I would initially decant it if you can, as it really opens up on day number 2. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: It may be the forgotten varietal of Bordeaux, but Malbec is ideal when you’re thirsting for something dark, bold and full of flavor. It’s a wine that adeptly balances fruit and zippy acidity with hints of vanilla oak. Our new Malbec is dark and rich, with black plum, raspberry and cranberry aromas. There’s a hint of black pepper to complement the vanilla oak. It’s fruit-forward in the mouth, with an extended finish of soft tannins and spice.
