Wine Review: If you are looking for a nice steak dinner and fireplace wine for a cold winter’s night, we found it in our High End Red tasting. This very dark purple colored red blend from Clark and Claudon will work in such a setting. It opens with a fragrant blackberry and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very concentrated and rich. The flavor profile is a blackberry jam and black raspberry blend with notes of black pepper, menthol, cassis, and a touch of oak. It’s pretty complex. The finish is dry and its dusty oak tannins and its gobs of fruit linger for quite a while. This wine was a new one for the panel and we really enjoyed it. Serve it with a Kobe cap steak with drawn garlic butter. Don't forget the roaring fireplace in the background. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Eternity speaks of heritage from its dark inky color and purple rim to its beautifully complex nose. Breathe deeply to find layers of jammy blackberry, ripe plum, grenadine, dark chocolate, coffee beans, black pepper and violets balanced nicely with spicy vanilla, & cedar. You might want to just stop there and linger…but, this big soft full bodied wine will coat your mouth with crème de cassis, violets and blueberry cream within a big frame of sweet chewy tannins. Enjoy through a long cassis and blackberry finish with notes of violets, sweet oak and graphite. And then… take another luscious sip.
