Wine Review: This deep violet colored Carmenere from Chile Is a good value wine. It has an intense nose of earthy green pepper, blackberry and minty herbal notes. It is a dry and fruity wine. On the palate, it is medium bodied with nicely integrated tannins in the end. It displays juicy plum, blackberry, dark chocolate and herbs flavors. It has an herbal, spicy and almost bitter finish that would pair well with some smoky baby-back ribs. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Reserva Carmenère displays tremendous varietal character through its spice and black fruit flavors. A base of black plum aromas is accompanied by notes of black pepper, coffee, and cedar. The smooth round palate has great volume and pronounced flavors of chocolate and mocha lend complexity.
