Wine Review: This almost clear colored entry level Sauvignon Blanc from Chile is a good value. It opens with a faint lime bouquet with a hint of guava. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, fresh, and round in the mouth. The flavor profile is gentle lemon-lime and Anjou pear blend with a hint of mineral. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Sauvignon Blanc is very food friendly and would complement many light fish dishes. I would pair it with baked Dover sole. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Chilcas Reserva Sauvignon Blanc is pale silvery-green in color with an intense nose that stands out for its citrus aromas of grapefruit and mandarin orange. Characters of green apple and passion fruit also mingle with spice, floral and mineral aromas. The palate is citrus driven with a clean line of minerality, crisp acidity and a long, fruity finish.
