Wine Review: This ruby colored Gamay from the Morgon commune opens with a strawberry shortcake bouquet with hints of gentle red cherry and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, fresh, and savory. The flavor profile is a mild stony minerality and slightly tart red plum blend with notes of oolong tea. I also detected some hints of black cherry, rhubarb, and a touch of loam. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and faint tannins fade away nicely. I would pair this Gamay with your favorite carnitas burrito or a Spanish Paella. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: With hints of clove and blackberry, this medium weight red wine has a bold presence and long finish. The tannins are chewy and will refine with a bit of age, while offering a nice complement to protein-based cuisines. Perfect with steak, burgers, roast, or grilled meats.
