Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Gamay from Fleurie opens with a blackberry and potting soil bouquet with a hint of red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with plus acidity. It is also juicy and quite spirted. The flavor profile is a cranberry and pomegranate blend with notes of red raspberry. I also detected hints of fine minerality, spice and a touch of oak. The finish is dry and its acidity does settle and drifts away nicely with the flavors. This Fleurie is food friendly and would pair nicely with a charcuterie platter. Enjoy - Ken
