Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and inky purple colored Merlot based wine from Chateau Trotanoy is one of the best wines we have ever covered. If not the best wine. It opens with a very inviting Maine blueberry, black cherry, and dark chocolate bouquet with hints of new leather, graphite, and violet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is very well-balanced, super smooth and seductive. The flavor profile is an unbelievably tasty graphite and blackberry blend with notes of black olive, black licorice, and black tea. We also detected hints of cassis and oak. The finish is dry, and its bold and dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this stunning wine with a well-marbled ribeye, a seared crispy skin duck breast or on its own by the firepit. Enjoy – KWGTP
