Wine Review: This opaque and midnight blue colored Syrah from Washington State was one of our top three Syrahs discovered in our recent Big Blind tasting. It opens with a mild blackberry pie bouquet with hints of oak and pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth and silky. The flavor profile is a gentle smoky oak and black licorice blend with hints of black currant, minerality and a dash of cinnamon. The finish is pleasant, dry and its moderate tannins are well managed. The panel suggested pairing this Syrah with veal scallopini and German chocolate cake. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Ethos Syrah represents the ultimate combination of power and softness. The wine offers rich dark blackberry fruit among layers of complexity and a sweet finish. The fruit came from the Wahluke Slope and our Cold Creek Vineyard. Eastern Washington’s soil and climate is a great match for growing amazing Syrah. Try this wine with rack of lamb!
