Wine Review: This dark yellow colored Chardonnay opens with an oak and lemon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, well-balanced, very silky and smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty mineral influenced lemon verbena with notes of new oak, ginger and walnut. I also detected hints of pineapple. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely extended. This Chard is very food friendly and would pair nicely with bay scallop chowder. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2016 Chateau St. Jean Durell Chardonnay brings beautiful balance to the glass. Our chardonnay gives you a generous and round mouth feel, often called elegant sensations. Bracing aromas and flavors of pineapple, ripe pear and lemon zest are joined by caramel and pleasant burnt sugar with toasted hazelnut and sweet vanilla spice. A lovely acid backbone, well-structured and nicely balanced, the Durell Chardonnay has a long, lingering lemon curd finish.
