Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay from Chateau St. Jean opens with a cantaloupe and mild apple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and pleasant. The flavor profile is an oak influenced Barlett pear with notes of butterscotch. I also detected a touch of the apple, minerality, and the cantaloupe that I found in the nose. The finish is dry and its flavors linger for a little while. This wine is food friendly and would pair well with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Chateau St. Jean Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a very light gold color, dazzling in the glass. Inviting aromas of Meyer lemon, fresh kiwi and rain-soaked crushed stones lead to a delicate yet flavorful palate. Flavors of fresh nectarine, vanilla spice meet a decided core of bright acidity. The wine resembles a Chablis style, firm structure with beautiful fruit expression and a lingering finish.
