Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored red blend opens with a mild red cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, juicy and easy going. The flavor profile is an approachable black cherry with nicely integrated old oak with hints of black currant and cranberry. The finish is dry and its mild tannins fade away nicely. This wine is food friendly and it would pair well with a thick cut of prime rib. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Cinq Cepages is a complex and layered wine. Its deep garnet color meets robust aromas of blackberry, black plum, clove spice and rich mocha notes in the glass. Secondary aromas of red fruits; raspberry and cherry mingle with notes of exotic floral, violet and pomegranate. The aromas lead to a juicy palate with flavors of blueberry, cherry and blackberry. Nuanced flavors of roasted coffee, black tea and a distinct dark chocolate component add to the complexity. The full-bodied wine has smooth, silky tannins that offer solid structure but do not overwhelm. The wine is plush and approachable yet complex and appealing on several returns to the glass.
