Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored wine from Pessac Leognan opens with a gentle black currant and blueberry bouquet with hints of cedar, ash, and licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and elegant. The flavor profile is black currant and graphite blend with notes mild blueberry and gentle blackberry. We also detected some hints of oolong tea and dark cocoa. The finish is dry, and its well-managed moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. The Tasting Panel would pair this wine with a filet mignon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Le Petit Haut Lafitte red 2018 is extremely fine with silky tannins and beautiful aromas and flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium-bodied, with notes of black currant, licorice, and dark chocolate. A great finesse and a good structure with a lot of ageing potential.
