Wine Review: This deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Chateau Rauzan-Segla is drinking excellent right now. It opens with a boysenberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of wet stone and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is extremely well-balanced, polished, and silky. The flavor profile is a stewed black plum and crushed stone minerality blend along with notes of oolong tea and blueberry. We also detected hints of dried herbs and chocolate in the mix. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this very impressive and delicate wine with a bone-in veal chop in the near term. Enjoy – KWGTP
