Wine Review: This medium purple colored wine opens with a wild strawberry and dried thyme bouquet with hints of moist pipe tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and savory. The flavor profile is a stony minerality and black currant blend with notes of oak and dried herbs. We also detected hints of black licorice and oolong tea. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins build-up and stick around for quite a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this wine with a Brazilian fire roasted beef alcatra. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The balance and depth are there. The tannins are silky. It is rare to find freshness this year, because of the climatic conditions. Malescot has it. Slightly woody and toasted notes tint the wine after aeration, revealing an aging still in the making but well controlled. A characterful and familiar wine.
