Wine Review: This deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Bordeaux opens with a black currant and dark chocolate bouquet with notes of pencil shavings, black cherry, and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, super smooth, and very nicely balanced. The flavor profile is a delicious blend of black currant, pipe tobacco, and fine stone dust with notes of black cherry and coffee grounds. We also detected hints of red plum and oak in the mix. The finish is dry and its well-managed dusty tannins build-up and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this wine with well-marbled ribeye or braised short ribs. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Dark color with purple tint on the rim, black cherry, black currant, and fresh prune. Powerful and unctuous with a lot of freshness. This vintage seems to be very approachable and well balanced. Tannins are dense and very silky. This amazing wine looks like a blend between the 2009 and the 2016. 2018 is the ultimate generous wine.
