Wine Review: This medium purple colored Chateauneuf du Pape opens with a blueberry and dark chocolate bouquet with hints of black cherry, lavender, & dried flowers. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with initial edgy plus acidity that smooths out nicely with aeration. The flavor profile is stony minerality and dried strawberry blend with notes of red plum and black tea. We also detected some hints of pomegranate, blackberry, and orange rind in the mix. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins are nicely extended. As mentioned, this wine benefits from greatly from aeration. The Tasting Panel would recommend decanting this CDP for at least an hour, before serving it with a pan-seared duck breast. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Dense garnet with a purple border. The intense bouquet reveals aromas of cherry, black currant, and olives with spicy and floral touches. The tannins are ripe, and the finish is long and deep. A wine with impressive aromatic expression and great cellaring potential.
