Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored wine opens with a mild pipe tobacco and black currant bouquet with hints of prune, mushroom, and nutmeg, On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, soft and silky. The flavor profile is mild gentle crushed stone and spiced plum blend with notes of black tea, cinnamon and hint of Tazo dark chocolate. The finish is dry and its fine tannins linger nicely and then fade away. The Panel would pair this filet mignon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This deep red Châteauneuf du Pape is very aromatic. At the very beginning, the nose is very red fruit driven and then, after a couple of minutes, it becomes more spicy (sweet Asian spices and potpourri). The mouth is full of energy, very juicy. Lots of garrigue characters, herbal notes but still very fleshy. The palate is soft and dense bringing an intense sappy finish. Pair with lamb, beef stew or duck fillet.
