Wine Review: This dark red colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Pauillac is very good. It opens with a black currant bouquet with hints of cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty mild black currant and plum blend with notes of minerality. I also detected hints of oak and plum. The finish is dry and its well-managed tannins stick around for a while. I would pair this very nice wine with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Grand Puy Lacoste 2015 will go down in history as one of the great vintages. The wine is an intense, deep red. The nose is opulent with notes of black fruit and ripe black currants. These notes are complemented by notes of spice and violets, all with a lovely freshness. On the palate, the wine is dense and precise, the aromas and textures build on the mid-palate and are carried by rich, powerful, well-rounded tannins. The 2015 is precise and complex, with freshness and excellent length.
