Wine Review: This bright and light straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc based wine from Chateau Carbonnieux opens with a gentle lemon and honey bouquet with a hint of kiwi. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and savory. The flavor profile is mild yellow grapefruit and crushed stone minerality with notes of lime zest and nectarine pit. We also detected hints of Anjou pear, white truffle oil, saline, and fresh marjoram. The finish is dry and refreshing. We would pair this wine with a halibut steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine is crystalline in appearance with a very pale-yellow color.
The nose gives a very harmonious aromatic spectrum. The first notes are of citrus fruits and then they are intensified with white flesh summer fruits such as peach.
The wonderful ripening conditions in 2019 produced very aromatic grapes with high acidity. The style of a great year is well and truly there, the attack is powerful, very round with a dense mid-palate and a fine smooth finish. The acidity brings freshness, revealing all the finesse and elegance of this wine.
