Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Merlot opens with a black cherry bouquet with hints of blueberry and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and fresh for a Merlot. The flavor profile is a mild black currant and stone dust blend with notes of black cherry-cola, and black pepper. I also detected hints of acai berry, vanilla, and light oak in the after taste. The finish is dry and its fine tannins and flavors drift away nicely. This Merlot benefits from a little aeration. I would pair it with a homemade meatloaf. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Our 2022 Napa Valley Merlot is selected ¬om our estates in St. Helena and Yountville. The grapes are night picked, destemmed and cold soaked to extract color and aromas. The wine opens with expressive aromas of hibiscus tea, cranberry, cherry, red currant, cedar, plum skin, brown butter, and whole cardamom. It is soft and buttery with a lush entry. Notes of vanilla, baked red fruit, cocao nibs, and red currant lead to a medium long finish with cherry and spicy oak.
