Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay was quite popular at our recent charity fundraising tasting for our local elementary school. It opens with a mild pineapple bouquet with hints of apricot. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and slightly creamy. The flavor profile is a gentle pear with hints of butter, mild minerals, and apple. The finish is dry and pleasant. I thought this Chard was food friendly and would pair with many dishes. Ritz cracker encrusted baked haddock came to mind first. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The first hint of pear nectar in our Peter Mondavi Family Chardonnay expands to aromas of brown sugar and butterscotch then segues into flavors of lemon zest, guava and chewy apricot. Firm mineral undertones embrace crisp, alive acidity for the finely balanced and elegant wine.
