Wine Review: This deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Chappellet opens with a mild black currant bouquet with hints of lingonberry and dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and fresh. The flavor profile is mild black cherry and stone dust blend with notes of blackberry. We also detected hints of black licorice, cassis, and cedar. The finish is dry, and its refined dusty tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Luxuriously dark and concentrated, this wine displays aromas of cassis, black cherry, and boysenberry, as well as notes of fresh herbs and French oak inspired hints of vanilla, cardamom and clove. On the palate it is beautifully full-bodied with supple, polished tannins and alluring layers of dark berries and spice, with notions of dark chocolate, espresso, sage and anise emerging on the long, dramatic finish.
