Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Chappellet opens with a mild toasted oak and blueberry bouquet with hints of black cherry and faint black coffee. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated moderate acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, smooth, firm, and seamless. The flavor profile is blueberry and graphite blend with notes of gentle oak and marionberry. We also detected hints of cocoa and clove. The finish is dry and its refined dusty tannins build-up nicely and stick around for a very very long time. The Tasting Panel would decant this youthful Cab before pairing it with a porterhouse steak or pot roast. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Embodying the essence of great mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is gloriously opulent and elegant, immediately demanding attention with concentrated aromas of black currant, cassis, ripe blackberry, sweet oak smoke, cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite, and violets. On the palate, it majestically captures the essence of Pritchard Hill’s terroir, with rich, robust tannins, voluptuous dark berry flavors and sophisticated nuances of sandalwood, savory dried herbs, anise, vanilla bean, nutmeg, dark chocolate, and spice that flow to a long, impeccably polished finish.
