Wine Review: This deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Chappellet is Excellent!. It opens with a black currant and black cherry bouquet with hints of black raspberry, tobacco, and cedar. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, soft and very smooth. This flavor profile is a loam, mild black currant, blackberry, and gentle oak blend with notes of crushed stone minerality. We also detected hints of black pepper and black licorice mixed in. The finish is dry and well-managed fine-grained tannins show very nice length. The Panel would pair this terrific Cab with a porterhouse steak or venison stew. Enjoy – KWGTP
