Wine Review: This pitch black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is very good and was well-liked by everyone in our dinner party. It opens with a black currant bouquet with hints of blackberry and blueberry. On the palate, the wine is full bodied, balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty black currant with notes of blackberry and nicely integrated minerality. I also detected hints of black tea, black cherry and oak. The finish is dry and its flavors and medium tannins drift away nicely. This Cab went nicely with my grilled filet mignon with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep and rich, this is a classic expression of hillside Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, offering alluring aromas of boysenberry, black currant and dark chocolate, as well as subtler layers of sweet oak, savory herbs and fresh-roasted coffee. On the palate, ripe fruit and plush, radiant tannins create a velvety mouthfeel and an almost liqueur-like richness that carries through to a long, lingering finish.
