Wine Review: This very impressive midnight blue colored Cabernet finished in second place in our recent High End Red Big Blind Tasting. It opens with a fragrant black cherry bouquet with a hint of blackberry and menthol. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a very tasty black currant and new oak blend with notes of black plum and a hint of black cherry. The finish is dry and its moderate mellow tannins show very nice length. The panel really enjoyed this wine. They suggested pairing it with beef stroganoff or a grilled ribeye steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: With a remarkable level of concentration and complexity, and a sense of place that speaks volumes about our vineyards, this wine represents the very best from an exceptional vintage on Pritchard Hill. From its dark, incredibly saturated color to its intense aromas of baked blackberry, dark cherry, creme de cassis, plum and anise this wine is layered, rich and sophisticated. On the palate, notes of espresso, dark chocolate and toasted oak, support beautiful ripe fruit and spice flavors, with seamless, mouthcoating tannins adding power and longevity. Despite its epic nature, there is also a liveliness and radiance to this wine that gives it poise, precision and balance.
