Wine Review: The Chamisal was at the forefront of unoaked Chardonnay. They helped set the standard and the awareness for the style. The 2019 vintage marks another great interpretation of this offering that has been a restaurant staple for years. The nose is an interesting mix of savory notes and an assortment of melons. The palate consists of cantaloupe, licorice, bay leaf, and lemon zest. The finish is medium in length and that is due to the brightening acid. A great composition that displays the power of 2019 with the restraint of the winemaker. I would highly recommend pairing it with a chicken alfredo. – Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: This Chardonnay is all about purity and focus. Clean, vibrant fruit aromatics; lime zest, green apple, passionfruit and a light floral note. The palate showcases the ability of a chardonnay to be crisp but retain opulence without the influence of oak with a surprisingly round entry followed by long, linear acidity. The finish is clean with a hint of salinity.
