Wine Review: This very dark opaque purple colored wine opens with a smoky mild black currant and oak like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, approachable, and polished. The flavor profile is a mild plum with hints of menthol, red currant, and cranberry. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins are quite lengthy and long. This Cab is food friendly. It would pair well with a NY strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2005 growing season was long and slow, allowing intricate flavors to develop in our red grape vineyards. 8% Malbec, 4% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot highlight this varietal Cabernet, adding aromatic lift, complexity, and intrigue to the nose and palate. Aromas of cassis, autumn leaves, graphite and mocha prelude a palate laced with bramble berries, earth, roasted espresso beans, tar and black spices. Its youthful yet integrated tannin structure makes this wine worthy of aging 5 to 10 years.
