Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chardonnay from Chalk Hill opens with a butterscotch candy bouquet with hints of lemon, jasmine. and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, creamy and crisp. The flavor profile is a rich lemon butter and oak blend with notes of butterscotch, and chalky minerality. I also detected some hints of herbal tea and pineapple in the mix. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity fade away nicely. This Chard would pair well with lobster bisque. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2021 vintage was warmer than average with little rainfall leading to a relatively early bud-break. Warm temperatures continued into summer setting the stage for full ripening, fresh acidity, and beautifully balanced fruit. Our 2021 Estate Chardonnay is creamy, rich, and elegant with complex aromas and flavors of baked pear tart, lemon curd, toasted marshmallow, star fruit, caramel, exotic spice, vanilla, and a fresh acidity. This is an age worthy wine of exceptional quality known for its long, rich, and elegant finish.
