Wine Review: This ruby colored Chianti Classico from Cecchi is very good. It opens with a red raspberry and red currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a pleasant cherry and light oak blend with hints of strawberry, mild minerality and plum mixed in. The finish is dry and its medium tannins stick around for a little while. This is an Italian food friendly wine and would be perfect spaghetti and meatballs or meat lasagna. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Chianti Classico is is Cecchi’s most popular wine. Made in a traditional style, it is garnet in color with rich aromas of violets and dark cherries and berries. Intense yet balanced, it has firm tannins that emerge on the finish. It pairs well with hearty red meat and poultry dishes, such as pasta Bolognese or chicken cacciatore as well as burgers and pizza.
