Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel and Petite Sirah based wine from Caymus-Suisan opens with oak and blackberry bouquet with hints of black licorice and graphite. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, dense and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry and black tea blend with notes of boysenberry and toasted oak. We also detected hints of black pepper and black licorice. Its flavors, acidity, and round tannins fade away nicely on the finish. The Tasting Panel would pair this red blend with a homemade meatloaf. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Nose: Warm and bright, with scents of cherry blossoms, clove, new car leather and cigar.
Palate: Ripe strawberry, pantry spice, and the woodsy character of a rustic cabin with a fire going. Brightness carries over from the nose, with a soft texture from balanced, rich tannins. A lingering trace of cranberry sauce on the finish.
Pair with grilled lamb chops with chimichurri, creamy prosciutto pasta or wood fired pizza.
