Wine Review: This midnight purple colored red blend from Caymus Suisun opens with a black cherry bouquet with a hint of moist pipe tobacco and a touch of mint. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, rich, and fresh. The flavor profile is black cherry cordial and mild boysenberry blend with notes of vanilla-cola. I also detected hints of craisin and cedar. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins drift away nicely. This very good wine would pair well with a firepit on a cool evening. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This new red wine blend is produced from Suisun Valley features Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. The nose features cherry cobbler, lightly butter toast, vanilla, red licorice, and a whiff of sweet cigar. The wine is smooth, bright, and lively with round fruit flavors. Those flavors are blackberry, vanilla, and brown spice. It closes with plush tannins and an expansive texture.
