Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Caymus opens with a very fragrant red currant and menthol bouquet with hints of strawberry, violets, and graphite. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, concentrated and fruit forward. The flavor profile is extracted red currant and menthol blend with notes of bacon and strawberry Twizzler. We also detected some hints of stony minerality and clove towards the end. The finish lingers and drifts away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with Colorado lamb chops or with a chocolate dessert tray. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Each year, we set aside the best barrels of our Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley to produce Special Selection. Distinguished by extremely fine, velvety tannins and enjoyable upon release or with aging. A wine of structure with intense concentration of supple flavors and dark fruits.
