Wine Review: This opaque and pitch black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Caymus is terrific. It opens with an attractive black cherry bouquet with hints of blueberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, rich and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty blueberry with notes of oak and RC cola. I also detected hints of black currant and a touch of raspberry towards the end. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger and last for quite a while. This very good Cab would pair nicely a ribeye steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2014 growing season was another great one in Napa Valley. Our Cabernets are a blend of wines from eight of the sixteen sub-appellations – a bottling that represents complexity through judicious blending. Deep red and opulent in color with the vibrant scent of dark cherry and blackberry, subtly layered with warm notes of vanilla. The palate is explosive, bright and balanced with cassis at the center, with flourishes of cocoa and sweet tobacco.
