Wine Review: This opaque and midnight violet colored blend from Napa Valley is very good. It opens with a fragrant and attractive ripe blackberry bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, smooth and fruity. The flavor profile is a tasty blackberry with notes of plum and black cherry. I also detected some nicely integrated mild oak and gentle minerality as well. The finish is dry and its well managed moderate tannins stick around for a bit. While this wine is not overly complex, it makes up for it in flavor. It is really tasty. I would pair this wine with Kobe beef sliders. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pretty aromas of red currant and black cherry mingle black fruits with mild earthy cured meat aromas that frame the wild berry flavors and toasty oak on the palate. The wine shows polish with a good balance between acidity and round and ripe flavors. Finishes with moderate well managed tannins. Pairs well with beef or lamb roast in a red wine sauce or duck.
