Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Carol Shelton opens with fragrant strawberry bouquet with hints of cherry and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a blend of strawberry and cranberry blend with notes of pomegranate with hints of minerality and cherry. The finish is dry and its flavors linger a for a bit. This Zin is fun barbecue wine. I would pair it with a pulled pork sandwich. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep black cherry fruit, dried cranberry, orange zest, berry patch in the sun! Dusty vanilla-caramel oak, graham crackers, and cocoa. Fragrant Moroccan-Asian spices - Chinese 5-spice mélange. Mouthfeel is creamy yet tangy bright cherry, firm-sturdy tannins and a long, lush finish. Super concentrated. Quite drinkable now, but will age a good 15-20 years. Very mouthfilling!
