Wine Review: This midnight black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Rockpile opens with a mild black currant bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied, juicy and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a plum and elderberry blend with notes black raspberry. I also detected hints of espresso and minerality throughout. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins linger and last for quite some time. This is a Cab that Zin lovers will like. Lots of fruit. It went really well with braised short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dark red in color. Black cherry-cola and cassis fruit, long and deep on nose and palate. Cedary oak spice and warm pipe tobacco aromas, dark chocolate, vanilla at finish, smoothly structured tannins.
