Wine Review: This midnight blue colored Zinfandel from Carol Shelton opens with a mild black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slight acidic and rather fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe and sweet plum with hints of molasses and faint old oak. I also detected a hint of red beet and cinnamon as well. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors are nicely prolonged. This Zin will pair well with sloppy Joe's. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Very bright pomegranate cherry fruit, brown sugary-caramel oak Fragrant Asian spices—Chinese 5-spice in milk chocolate/cocoa; Mouthfeel is creamy yet tangy, quite drinkable now but will age a good 10-15 years. Very mouthfilling!
