Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Carol Shelton was a top performer in our recent Big Blind Tasting. It was my personal favorite. It opens with a black cherry bouquet with a hint of blueberry and vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty Dr. Pepper with notes of blueberry and oak. The panel also picked up some hints of menthol and plum. The finish is dry and its medium dusty tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this very nice gem with Colorado lamb chops with a truffle risotto or Stuart's steak treats. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Nice dark-red in color, big blueberry-blackberry fruit, spicy-chocolatey oak, nicely focused acidity enhances mineral flavors, elegantly structured tannins for aging, super plush long finish!
