Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Petite Sirah from Carol Shelton opens with a fragrant blackberry bouquet with hints of blueberry and Dr. Pepper. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, juicy and rich. The flavor profile is a tasty blueberry and plum blend with hints of nicely integrated minerality and oak. The finish is dry and its sticky tannins linger and last for quite some time. I would decant this Petite Sirah briefly and serve it with a well-marbled ribeye steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Passionate purple in color, lively black peppery spice on perfumey blue-blackberry fruit along with Cedary oak spice, dusty cocoa, warm vanilla creme at finish, structured tannins for aging.
