Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Malbec from Caro is a nice mid-week wine offering. It opens with a blackberry and black raspberry bouquet with hints of rhubarb, cinnamon, and a touch of black olive. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, easy to drink and a touch austere. The flavor profile is gentle black tea, mild boysenberry and stony minerality blend with notes of oak, red grape, and black plum. I also detected hints of black pepper and cocoa. The finish is dry, and its flavors and moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. I would pair this Malbec with grilled steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense deep red color. The nose reveals aromas of plum and red fruit. On the palate, the wine is round and fresh with remarkable balance between tannins, acidity, and alcohol, with a long, delicate finish.
