Wine Review: This pale straw colored Riesling from Carmel Road is a good value. It opens with a ginger beer and green apple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a tart green apple with notes of minerality and quince. I also detected hints of white pepper. The finish is mostly dry, refreshing and lasts for a while. This Riesling would pair well with fried clams or calamari. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Unoaked Riesling displays notes of apricots, succulent, spicy papayas, zesty limes with mouth-tingling acidity and a floral note that one minute is gardenias, the next is semi-sweet honeysuckle flowers. Its cleanliness, acidity and ripe, fruity flavor are immediately apparent.
