Wine Review: This bright red colored Pinot Noir from Carmel Road is very friendly. It opens with a fragrant ripe red raspberry bouquet with hints of red cherry and faint oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is not overly complex, but tasty. I detected mild red cherry and gentle raspberry flavors. There are also hints of faint oak and minerality in the background. The finish is dry and subtle. This Pinot is very food friendly and would be a very nice everyday offering. I would pair it spaghetti and sweet Italian sausage. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2012 Monterey Pinot Noir is French oak aged briefly to add earthy, dark toast undertones to this brightly fragrant, berry spiced wine. The balance of the final wine is fantastic as it comes together in a velvety finish!
